StoneLab Terms & Conditions
Consumer

Article 1 — Quotation & Order

1.1 Validity of quotation

The quotation is valid for 30 days. Prices for natural stone and composite materials may be affected by availability and international supplier pricing, which means adjustments may occur.

1.2 Preliminary quotation

Price estimates provided before measurement are preliminary. The final price is determined once drawings have been approved and any additional items— such as cut-outs, carrying, access requirements or specific installation needs —have been confirmed.

Changes made after a quotation has been accepted mean that previously communicated timelines and costs are no longer binding. Both price and timeline may be adjusted based on the updated project conditions.

1.3 Binding order and payment terms

An order becomes binding when the order is placed and the 50% deposit invoice has been paid. Materials are reserved and project planning begins once payment has been received.

Payment terms:
• 50% upon order (deposit invoice)
• 50% after measurement and before production begins

1.4 Changes after measurement

Changes made after measurement or after drawings have been produced constitute new project conditions and may affect both cost and delivery time. Changes to an approved drawing will be charged accordingly.

Article 2 — Material: Natural stone & Composite

2.1 Natural variations in natural stone

Natural stone is a living material and may display variations in:

veining and movement
colour tone
crystals, fossils and pores
natural lines and structural features
density and texture

These variations are inherent to the material and do not constitute grounds for a claim.

2.2 Sample pieces

Sample pieces illustrate the general character of the material but do not represent the exact appearance of the slab or block delivered.

2.3 Variations in composite materials

Composite materials may display minor tonal or pattern variations between batches. These variations are normal and not considered grounds for a claim.

2.4 Viewing material through images

Stone selection is often made using photographs. Images show the material’s general pattern and character but may differ in colour and tone compared to how the stone appears in person or in the consumer’s own environment. Variations caused by screen settings, lighting conditions or surrounding colours do not constitute grounds for a claim.

Article 3 — Drawings & Project documentation

3.1 Consumer-provided drawings

If the project is ordered without measurement by StoneLab, production is based solely on the drawings and measurements provided by the consumer.

StoneLab is not responsible for errors resulting from incorrect or incomplete consumer-provided documentation.

3.2 Drawings produced by StoneLab

Drawings produced by StoneLab serve as the final production documentation. Changes made after approval may result in additional charges and may affect delivery time.

3.3 Responsibility upon drawing approval

By approving the drawing, the client confirms that all selections and
specifications in the drawing are correct, including but not limited to material, thickness, edge profile, surface finish, placement of cut-outs and any other design-related decisions.

StoneLab’s responsibility is limited to ensuring that the drawing corresponds to the measured dimensions and technical conditions.

Any changes requested after the drawing has been approved may result in additional costs and extended delivery time.

Article 4 — Measurement

4.1 Conditions for measurement

The following conditions must be met at the time of measurement:

all cabinets installed and secured
side panels installed
walls and floors completed
cabinets levelled
surfaces clear and accessible

If these conditions are not met, measurement may need to be rescheduled.
A return visit will be charged.

4.2 Changes after measurement

Production is based on the approved drawing. If cabinets, walls or other structural conditions are changed after measurement, StoneLab cannot be held responsible if the stone does not fit. New production will be charged as a new order.

4.3 Changes after measurement

Cancellations made less than 24 hours before the scheduled time will be
charged.

Article 5 — Production & Tolerances

5.1 Standard tolerances

The following tolerances apply:
thickness: ± 2 mm
length/width: ± 2 mm
diagonal: ± 2 mm
visible edges: ± 2 mm

Variations within these tolerances are normal and do not constitute grounds for a claim.

5.2 Edges and processing

Saw-cut edges may display minor irregularities.
Profiled edges may differ slightly in sheen or texture compared to the surface, which is normal.

Article 6 — Delivery

6.1 Delivery with StoneLab installation

When delivery includes installation by StoneLab, the material is covered by warranty during transport and installation.

6.2 Delivery without StoneLab installation

If the consumer receives the material without installation, the goods must be
inspected before the delivery note/CMR is signed. A signed document indicates that the delivery has been accepted.

In case of visible damage:

do not sign
document the damage (photo/video)
inform the driver immediately
contact StoneLab via email with documentation

If the delivery note/CMR is signed despite visible damage, the goods are considered approved and replacement production cannot be provided without cost.

6.3 Delivery times

Delivery times are estimates and may be affected by import logistics, supplier production and transport conditions. StoneLab does not compensate for consequential costs arising from delays outside its control.

Article 7 — Installation

7.1 Conditions prior to installation

The following must be fulfilled prior to installation:

work surfaces must be clear
upper drawers removed or pulled out if needed
floors and sensitive surfaces protected
existing countertops removed unless otherwise agreed

If conditions are not met, installation may be rescheduled. A return visit will be charged.

7.2 During installation

The consumer or a responsible representative must be present during installation. If no one is present, the installation is considered approved once the installers leave the site.

Minor adjustments may be made at no additional cost. Work or adjustments requested or required after completed and approved installation will be charged.

7.3 Jointing (seams)

Jointing is performed between stone elements. Jointing against walls, tiles, plaster or wallpaper is not included and is performed by a painter or another contractor.

7.4 Damage during installation

If damage occurs during installation, StoneLab reserves the right to attempt repair first, such as through gluing, polishing or similar methods. If a repair cannot achieve industry standard results, a replacement piece will be produced at no cost, provided the damage was caused by StoneLab.

7.5 Work not performed by StoneLab

StoneLab does not perform:

plumbing work
electrical work
disconnection or reconnection of water

These tasks must be performed by certified professionals.

Article 8 — Claims & Complaints

8.1 Claim period

Claims must be submitted in writing within 7 days from installation or delivery. Image documentation is recommended.

8.2 Not grounds for claim

natural variations in stone
differences between sample and delivered material
variations in veining, crystals, pores or structure
deviations within stated tolerances

8.3 StoneLab’s responsibility

StoneLab is responsible for:

production errors
measurement errors caused by StoneLab installation-related damage that cannot be repaired

If the conditions in section 7.1 are not fulfilled, no responsibility is taken for the
installation result.

8.4 Consumer-provided material

Work performed on material supplied by the consumer is done without warranty and at the consumer’s own risk.

Article 9 — Ownership & Limitation of liability

9.1 Retention of ownership

All material remains the property of StoneLab until full payment has been received.

9.2 Ansvarsbegränsning

StoneLab does not compensate for:

consequential damages
economic loss additional costs from other contractors delays caused by third parties or circumstances beyond StoneLab’s control

Liability is limited to the value of the faulty product or service.

Article 10 — Tax deduction (ROT)

10.1 Tax deduction (ROT)

The consumer is responsible for ensuring that the conditions for tax deductions are fulfilled. If the Swedish Tax Agency denies the deduction in full or in part, the outstanding amount and an administrative fee of SEK 500 will be charged.

Article 11 — GDPR

11.1 GDPR

Personal data is processed in accordance with GDPR and used solely for order management, invoicing, communication and warranty/claim matters. Personal data is not sold or shared with third parties for commercial purposes.

Article 12 — Force Majeure

12.1 Force Majeure

StoneLab is not liable for non-performance caused by events beyond its control, including but not limited to strikes, import disruptions, transport issues, fires, natural events or government decisions.

Article 13 — Warranty

13.1 Warranty period

The warranty is valid for 2 years for:

manufacturing joints and bonding installation integrated stone components

13.2 Conditions for warranty

The warranty applies when:

both measurement and installation have been performed by StoneLab the material has been used under normal conditions

Care and maintenance instructions have been followed

13.3 Exclusions from warranty

The warranty does not cover:

acid stains
scratches
heat damage
discolouration from strong substances
natural material variations
damage caused by third parties structural movement in the building or cabinetry

13.4 StoneLab’s right to repair

StoneLab reserves the right to attempt repair first. If an acceptable industry standard cannot be achieved, a replacement piece will be produced.
